• Partway through Lockdown

As I write this our sun-drenched countryside and gardens are shimmering and glistening with a nourishing sprinkle from the skies. I contemplate – there are two sides to every story. We can be thankful for good health when we have witnessed bad; personal growth starts with ignorance; we rejoice in happiness after experiencing pain; freedom is sweet having known captivity; we only know our strength when we have the choice to be weak. Over the last few weeks many of us have realised the many joys we have in our life by going without. How grateful will we be for a bought coffee, a hug, an appointment, choice, a change of scenery? Some of my clients have contacted me just to tell me how much they miss their therapies. Me too! I have been unable to have my swaps with a therapist friend, so I dug out my foot spa and have blissed out on massaging bubbles, adding my favourite essential oils. My personal favourite blend is vetiver, rose and lavender. Vetiver, a luxurious earthy base note not to everyone taste but blended with exquisite rose whose therapeutic uses include hormone balancing, calms and grounds me. A little touch of .lavender as a top note crowns this soothing mix. Just as we make our own luck, we can make the most of a time with restrictions. We don’t need to achieve big things during this time. Who needs that pressure? Just to rediscover the joys ‘right under our noses’ could be enough. I am looking forward to being able to provide my therapies again but in the meantime keep safe everyone and keep everyone safe.
